This activity aims to introduce the nine types of garbage commonly found in the mainstream for the proper segregation, recovery, treatment and final disposal. This activity is part of the series of purok-based initiated activities to increase the level of participation of households in waste segregation. The target for this year is to reach 60% level of participation of households from the 40% participation in 2022. The target will include all households in the 25 barangays of the Municipality of Bantayan.

Bantayan is seriously seeking for a durable solution to address complex waste management challenges in the context of climate change. Today, the goal is to shift from the typical collection and disposal of garbage to RECOVERY of garbage with economic value at the household level.
