Supply of shells and other marine products in Bantayan Public Market regain after Habagat strikes in Visayas area.  "Binga' is one of the most delicious shells sold in the market.  

Undesirable weather condition affects not only to the supply of marine products but also to the marine ecosystem.  Uprooted seagrasses are evident on shorelines facing southwest.  Some plastic waste drifted along the coastline.  

More than 5 tons of domestic waste were sucessfully transported from the island of Lipayran to the mainland of Bantayan.  Despite heavy rains and wind disturbances, the puroks through the Bantay Dagat did it.  This is such a great effort!

Domestic waste from the households are collected by the Purok and transported to the CMRF for Final Treatment.  Before unloading, it will be checked by the CMRF record keeper to ensure that the delivery has complied the segregation guidelines.  

Beacuase of the active participation of Puroks in the 25 barangays in Bantayan, the final sorting and recovery of recyclable materials is even easier and efficient, the Municipal Solid Waste Managent of Bantayan reported.  

This facility is intended for storage of all hazardous waste recovered at the final sorting of garbage collected from households and government facilities within the Municipality of Bantayan.  Upon reaching the minimum volume, it will be collected by the accredited hazadous waste treaters for final treatment.  

Organic wastes generated from the public market of the Municipality of Bantayan are collected daily and transported to the CMRF.  On the average, the CMRF received 20 tons of organic waste every month.
